The autumn of the nature school started with a festive start

About a dozen groups from Salo elementary schools will visit Teijo Nature School in autumn 2022. The first to arrive was the 4th grade from Pajula School, who also got to witness the donation of water backpacks from the Salo Rotary Club.

The nature school's environmental educator Sanna Koistinen led the children to the secrets of the manor forest. Teacher Maiju Valjus and school guidance counselor Venla Viisanen enjoyed both the lessons and the beautiful weather with the children: "It's great and easy that everything is already organized and you can follow the expert teaching."

The Teijo Area Village Association, which maintains the Teijo Nature School, also receives support for some of the trips of the nature school groups through the Ministry of the Environment's early childhood education and education project grant. The first group already considered this important: "Schools' budgets are so small these days that it is challenging to organize trips. It's great that the trips are also included in the free package," said Maiju Valjus.

During the lunch break of the Nature School Day, Salo Rotary Club President Janne Väistö and club master Ari Tiainen donated a supplement to the joint equipment storage of Teijo Nature School and Teijo School. A year ago, the first two water backpacks were received on Baltic Sea Day and now two more have arrived. The donation enables water research for even a large group of children. In connection with the donation, Janne Väistö wanted to emphasize that Salo is part of the Baltic Sea - the sea we all share.
