The Nature School acts as a promoter of Teijo School's Green Flag activities.

Teijo School has been flying the Green Flag in Salo for the third year as a sign of participation in the international sustainable development Eco-Schools program. Important factors in the Green Flag activities are taking nature and the environment into account in the school's everyday life and student participation.

Teijo Nature School has played an important role in initiating and promoting Teijo School's Green Flag activities. With the help of the Nature School, Teijo School joined the Green Flag program in 2022. Since then, the Nature School has planned activities in collaboration with Teijo School's teachers, students, and the Teijo Area Village Association.

Teijo School's Green Flag theme since autumn 2024 has been biodiversity, chosen by the students, and will continue until spring 2026. Within the framework of the theme, the students have, among other things, built birdhouses and insect hotels, started establishing a meadow for butterflies and moths, paid attention to food waste, spotted winter and spring birds and gone on many excursions. The excursions have included observing and admiring the nature of Teijo National Park as well as exploring another Green Flag destination, the Sagalund Museum.

There is still a year left on the Biodiversity theme, so Teijo will delve deeper into the theme during the 2025-2026 academic year, and the activity is intended to continue after the end of the season.
