Situation report 30.8.

This time too, all 12 workshops were booked within a few days. A big thank you to those who made reservations! If you missed out on a workshop, send us a message at luontokoulu(ät)teijo.fi and tell us what you would have liked. We will use the messages to map out the number of needs for the future.

Nature School workshops in September-November

Teijo Nature School is once again offering two workshops to Salo primary schools that are committed to the goals of OPS 2016. The program for autumn 2023 includes the same workshops as in spring 2023, and we are expecting groups to come to Teijo who have not yet been able to visit Teijo Nature School.

We have opened 12 datesin the booking calendar for September, October and November. So we will probably get to try out slightly different weather conditions again. The most common date this time is Friday; the workshop day is a nice start to the weekend.

The booking calendar shows the time between 9:30 and 1:15, which takes into account the arrival and departure times of the bus. Changing the time can be discussed if necessary. The total duration of the day is approximately 3½ hours, so that you can spend time in nature at a leisurely pace.

Group size

The group size is less than 25 students. If your group is larger, please contact the environmental educator. One group can come to the nature school at a time, but such a group can be assembled from two different age groups (3rd & 4th or 5th & 6th together), if the group size remains within the given limits.

Transportation

The Teijo Area Village Association has received a project grant from the Ministry of the Environment's environmental education and awareness administrative branch for the Teijo nature school it maintains. A sum has been reserved from the grant for transportation, which will enable a group of 10-12 children to travel back and forth to Paikku (max. €100) to Teijo in autumn 2023.

As last autumn and this spring, teachers will collect their group's Place Value Cards from the City Hall information desk during its opening hours (Mon-Thu 8am-4pm, Fri 8am-2:45pm). The cards will also be returned to City Hall.

Transportation is organized/planned by the ordering school/teacher. Paikun line 30 runs to Teijo, which departs from Ollikkalata, continues via the bus station and hospital to Viitannummi and along Merikulmantie to Teijo. Buses run once an hour on school days. The journey time from the bus station is half an hour. In Teijo, the nature school day starts next to the bus stop at the beginning of Teijontie.

At the nature school, we prefer public transport, which is also required by the project conditions. If the school comes to the nature school by chartered transport, the transport operator can send an invoice of €100 to the Teijo Area Village Association at invoicing (at) teijo.fi and the school will pay the remaining amount itself.
