The Teijo Nature School has an open part-time position for an environmental educator. The nature school, established in Salo in spring 2021, pilots and develops environmental education in Teijo. The Teijo Nature School is maintained by the Teijo Village Association in cooperation with the City of Salo.

The environmental educator's task is to develop the nature school's teaching concepts, organize nature school teaching for visiting groups of children and adults, and collaborate in nature school networks. The environmental educator's work alternates between independent development work and teamwork with volunteers from the village association. The environmental educator will initially work at Teijo School and Teijo National Park for 6 hours per week. This work could be done, for example, alongside the work of a subject teacher one day a week.
The applicant is required to:
pedagogical competence
environmental educator qualification or equivalent training
self-initiative approach to work
The following will be considered to the applicant's advantage:
desire to be involved in developing environmental education and outdoor education in the Salo area
experience in working in networks, for example in organization work
the opportunity to commit to the position for two academic years
Basic information about the task:
Employer: Teijo Area Village Association
Employment: Fixed-term employment contract starts immediately or according to agreement, ends June 30, 2023. Probation period 6 months.
Working hours: ~6 hours/week
